Simple, fast and free tools that help you understand and check your internet connection.
Who we are
InternetSpeedTest.tools is a website that brings together free online tools for testing and understanding your internet connection. Our main tool is the Internet Speed Test, which measures your download speed, upload speed, ping and jitter directly in your web browser.
We built this website because checking your connection should be quick and clear. You should not need to install software, create an account or read through confusing technical terms to find out whether your internet is working the way it should.
What we offer
Every tool is free, works in your browser and is written in plain language, so you can understand the result.

Our principles
- Free and simple. No sign-up, no downloads and no hidden steps. Open a tool and use it.
- Clear results. We explain what each number means, so the result is useful and not just a figure.
- Respect for your privacy. The speed test uses random data that is discarded after it is measured. Read our Privacy Policy to see how this website handles information.
- Honest about limits. No online test is perfect. Results depend on your device, Wi-Fi, the test server and network conditions, and we say so on our pages.
How our speed test works
The test runs in your browser. It first measures ping with a series of short requests and calculates jitter from the differences between them. Then it downloads data from a test server over several connections at once, and finally uploads data. The speed is calculated from the amount of data moved and the time it took, and the short start-up period of each connection is ignored so it does not lower your result.
You can read more, including tips for getting a more accurate result, on the speed test page.
